Madlen is a Turkish AI-native school operating system designed for teachers. It offers over 40 AI-powered tools across content creation, activity planning, assessment, differentiation, and lesson planning. With $1M+ ARR, 50,000+ students, 20,000+ teachers, and 300,000+ hours saved, Madlen operates across Turkey and the MENA region, and is expanding into European markets. It is the GESAwards MENA number one EdTech tool and a Times Higher Education Asia award recipient.
madlen.io →The Challenge
Madlen needed to solve three problems to credibly enter European markets
Data Sovereignty & Compliance
The EU AI Act classifies education as a high-risk AI domain. When a Turkish EdTech platform wants to serve German schools or French public institutions, it cannot afford ambiguity on data residency. European procurement teams need proof - not promises - that student data stays within EU jurisdiction.
Performance Under Peak Load
40+ AI tools used simultaneously by thousands of teachers - during school day starts, exam periods, and deadlines. GPU-based systems either over-provision capacity or queue requests and introduce latency. Neither works for real-time classroom use.
Unit Economics & Market Access
Schools have per-student budgets. High inference costs are a structural barrier to expansion into developing markets including MENA and Southeast Europe, where Madlen has identified significant demand.
The Solution
One API endpoint change. No retraining. No workflow rebuilds.
The Integration: One Endpoint Change
Because Infercom's APIs are fully OpenAI-compatible, Madlen's existing AI pipeline - content generation, adaptive learning, analytics - was redirected with a single API endpoint change. Engineers spent time on product, not infrastructure archaeology.
SambaNova Dataflow Architecture
Compared to GPU-based inference systems, SambaNova's RDU architecture delivers up to 10x faster inference and 5x better energy efficiency. Full BF16 precision, no quantization - no hidden accuracy tradeoffs for teacher-facing tools.
Data Sovereignty: The Architecture of Trust
When Madlen's AI tools are used by European schools, all data is processed exclusively in Infercom's Munich data centers, under German and EU law. There is no path - technical or legal - by which a US government request could compel access to that data.
Results
What the partnership delivered
Performance
Latency dropped during peak hours. Concurrent user capacity increased. The exam generator, lesson plan assistant, and composition evaluator all became noticeably more responsive. A 5x improvement in energy efficiency creates compounding economics as usage scales.
Compliance as a Competitive Asset
For European markets, compliance became infrastructural - baked into the architecture, not added as policy documentation on top of a non-compliant system. ISO 27001:2022 certification backed by data residency in certified German facilities gives Madlen a response no competitor currently offers when entering EU procurement processes.
Strategic Repositioning
Madlen is no longer simply an AI application for teachers. It is an education infrastructure platform: sovereign, compliant, scalable, and built on an architecture that treats student data as a protected resource rather than a commodity.
"When we enter European markets, data sovereignty is not a luxury. It is a prerequisite. With Infercom, we meet that prerequisite without compromising on performance."
